The Rules specific to the Little 7

Welcome to the 2011 Little 7 League Hosted by – Geneva Foxes

I want to thank all of you for participating in the Little 7 League this year. It is my goal to be able to administer this league every year.

The purpose of this League is to foster competitive play during the week, with local teams.   There will be a Little 7 Tournament at the end of the league season.  Teams will be encouraged to play well throughout the course of league games for higher seeding for the tournament. This will also aid in keeping your teams skills sharp for other weekend tournaments.

The Little 7 Rules are to be used for all Little 7 games. The Rules will follow the current year’s USSSA Rule Book, with the additional Little 7 League Rules as noted below.

The Rules specific to the Little 7:

  • Teams will play each other team within their age appropriate level a minimum of 2 (two) times over the course of the league (one home game and one away game) with each team hosting 1 (one) of the 2 (two) games at their respective fields so each team has the opportunity to be the home team.
  • Home team is responsible for scheduling and paying for a single umpire for each game
  • Home teams provide 2 (two) new softballs for each game
  • Weekday games begin at 6:00 pm
  • No new inning after 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Free substitution is allowed – and is encouraged to be utilized
  • Continuous batting is mandatory
  • 2 Pitchers minimum per game with a maximum of 4 innings per game - a warm up pitch from within the pitchers circle constitutes a full inning.
